I trialled TrailSkin Trench Foot Cream this weekend and it has genuinely given me a huge boost of confidence going into longer runs.
I’ve struggled with foot creams before because many of them feel gritty or uncomfortable, especially once you’ve been moving for hours. This one felt completely different — smooth to apply, comfortable from the start, and it didn’t feel like it was sitting heavily on my skin.
For the test, I ran for 5 hours wearing liner socks and waterproof socks, which is usually a perfect setup for maceration if your foot care isn’t dialled in. At the end of the run I checked my feet expecting the usual softening, but there were no signs of maceration at all. That’s pretty remarkable after that length of time in a wet environment.
Combined with the full TrailSkin foot care process, this feels like it’s going to become part of my standard race and long-run routine.
For anyone doing long trail days, ultras, or spending hours in wet conditions, this is definitely a product worth trying.

As an experienced ultra runner, I have spent many an hour during the latter stages of races, walking like John Wayne after not considering protecting my undercarriage from the dreaded chafing. I shopped around for solutions, Vaseline? Nope, too greasy. Eventually, I discovered TrailSkin while doom scrolling, as you do.
I took a punt at the endurance bundle and I can say the anti chafe balm is great! It came in a very handy dispenser, easy and carefree to apply, apart from some curious looks from passers by as I had my hands down my undergarments in order to apply it. The soothing balm also works a treat during cycling too by the way, not that I intend to cross over to the dark side of Triathlon!
One application lasts a very long time, unlike some other products, especially when one is perspiring liberally. Then the product can be easily stored in your pocket or race pack for later use.
The other items in the bundle are great too and you can tell some thought has gone into the design of the dispensers, but the chafe balm is my hero. I’m sure the chafe balm and I will spend many a happy hour together on the trails, safe in the knowledge that nappy rash has been given a firm heave ho!
Have suffered issues where I have been rubbed raw with wet shorts causing issues. Participating in the Brecon to Cardiff Clasic Ultramarathon, 43 miles, I had really concerns as to whether I would be able to due it. Having been told about Trailskin by other runners I decided to buy a tube. Having used the Anti Chafe Salve in my training runs then on the race day itself, I highly recommend the product. I have had no further issues. When my tube runs out I will be purchasing more. Give it whirl, you won't regret your choice.
I recently ran a 50 mile race and used trench foot before and during when I changed my socks. My feet were swollan and tender but not one blister! Awesome product and I love that its small, fits right in my shorts pocket
Used the anti-chafe salve on lots of long runs, it does the job and stops sore areas developing. Keeps protecting even when you're soaking wet and you don't need to keep applying it. Can't recommend enough.
Super handy took this with me on a 200 mile cycle round trip from Bournemouth to Bristol, no chaffing on either leg. Handy tin to pack with no weight. As good or if not better than the big beans.
